Natural definition
Definition that suits your face rather than a trend, placed by a prescribing clinician at our Berkhamsted clinic. Can be dissolved if needed, priced by the millilitre so you know exactly what you are buying, and planned so the first thing anyone notices is simply how well you look.

A lip is not one tissue.
Along the border for definition, in the body for fullness, at the corners to lift a mouth that has begun to turn down.
A lip is not one tissue. Placement determines the result entirely: along the border for definition, in the body for fullness, at the corners to lift a mouth that has begun to turn down.
Filler along the border redefines a softened edge so lipstick stops bleeding.
In the body of the lip for fullness, restoring volume lost from the late twenties onward.
At the corners to lift a mouth that has begun to turn down.
Fine vertical lines above the lip are softened.
A small amount placed precisely along the border sharpens the outline of the lip and lifts an edge that has flattened. This is a definition treatment rather than a volume one, and the amounts are small.
Amount and layer are chosen for your lips at assessment. The positions shown are illustrative, not a treatment plan.

Topical anaesthetic for twenty minutes. The product contains a local anaesthetic, so the lip numbs further as treatment goes on. Treatment takes twenty to thirty minutes, worked in small increments, sitting you up between passes so you see the shape developing. Placement determines the result entirely: along the border for definition, in the body for fullness, at the corners to lift a mouth that has begun to turn down.
What you feel or see Pressure more than pain once numb.
What to do You see a difference the same day, though swollen.
Swelling peaks at twenty four to forty eight hours and can look generous. It is part of the process and never your result.
What you feel or see Fuller and firmer than the final look.
What to do Plan treatment a couple of weeks ahead of anything in the diary.
Swelling falls away across the first week.
What you feel or see Softer each day.
What to do Nothing. Let it settle.
Swelling has gone and this is your actual result. A review is included, and any small adjustment happens then.
What you feel or see The shape you agreed.
What to do Come to the review.
Lip filler lasts six to twelve months. The lip is in constant motion, which breaks the gel down faster than in the cheek or jaw. Most patients return every nine to twelve months, and repeat treatments usually need slightly less product because some of the previous placement remains as a base. It can be dissolved if needed.
What you feel or see Gradual, not sudden.
What to do Book at nine to twelve months if you want to keep the result.

Six to twelve months. Lips move more than anywhere else on the face, which works the gel away a little faster, so most patients return at nine to twelve months and usually need a touch less product each time.
Lips lose volume from the late twenties onward: the border softens and the upper lip lengthens and flattens. Others were born with a thin upper lip or a noticeable asymmetry. Patients arrive from two directions, some who have never had filler and want something nobody could point to, and some who were over-filled elsewhere and want it taken back to natural. We are as happy dissolving as placing.
£280 for 0.5ml and £350 for 1ml at our Berkhamsted clinic. Most first-time patients need 0.5ml to 1ml. We price by volume so you know exactly what you are paying for, and most lips need less than people expect: one millilitre is roughly a fifth of a teaspoon.
Less than people expect. Topical anaesthetic goes on for twenty minutes beforehand and the product itself contains a local anaesthetic, so the lip numbs further as treatment goes on. Most patients describe pressure rather than pain.
Two weeks. Swelling peaks at twenty four to forty eight hours, your true shape appears by day fourteen, and for an event it is worth booking at least three weeks ahead.
Most of it goes within seventy two hours, and the last of it within two weeks. Sleeping propped up on the first two nights and a cold compress on day one both help.
Hyaluronic acid, a sugar molecule your body already produces to hold water in skin and joints. The filler version is made in a laboratory and cross-linked into a gel so it holds its shape.
Hyaluronic acid fillers have an excellent safety record when placed by a trained medical professional with a dissolving agent to hand, which is how every lip at Regents Park Aesthetics is treated. Everything we place in the lip can be dissolved.
Give exercise, alcohol, saunas and hot yoga a day off, hold dental work for two weeks, and sleep propped up on the first two nights. Your clinician runs through it all before you leave.
Yes, once the anaesthetic has worn off, which takes two to three hours. Go gently with hot drinks while your lip is still numb, and expect eating to feel a little odd for a day or two.
Give it forty eight hours. The lip is tender and the filler is still settling into position, so firm pressure waits a day or two.
Yes. Plain petroleum jelly or a simple lip balm is perfect and helps with dryness. Save anything with menthol, camphor or exfoliating acids for the following week.
Yes, hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved if needed. We dissolve regularly, including work placed elsewhere, and it is a straightforward appointment.
No. We work in small increments at a sensible volume, sit you up to check the shape as it builds, and let previous filler settle before adding more. The compliment our patients hear most is that they look well.
A lip flip is a different treatment. A small amount of anti-wrinkle product at the upper lip border rolls the lip slightly outward, showing more of what you already have. It adds no volume, lasts around three months and costs £180, and it suits people wanting a subtle change without filler.
