Skinpen Microneedling London and Berkhamsted
What is Skinpen Microneedling and how does it work?
SkinPen ™ is a new, FDA-approved innovation in aesthetic medicine for the treatment of fine lines, acne scars and improvement of the skin’s overall appearance.
Prior to the treatment a local anaesthetic cream is applied to the skin. This makes the procedure comfortable with minimal discomfort. During the microneedling procedure, a growth serum is applied to the skin and the SkinPen ™ device is then glided across the treatment area. Tiny needles within the device are used to create controlled ‘micro-injuries’ to the skin in order to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin. The treatment will also allow topical serums and creams to be absorbed more effectively into the skin.

Microneedling depths, explained 👀✨
One of the reasons we love microneedling so much is its versatility. By adjusting the treatment depth, we can tailor SkinPen microneedling to different concerns, different areas and different skin goals 🙏
Here’s a simple guide:
✨ 0.25mm - product absorption + skin glow
✨ 0.5mm - fine lines + skin texture
✨ 0.75mm - uneven skin tone + pore refinement
✨ 1.0mm - light scarring + enlarged pores
✨ 1.25mm - light scarring + smile lines
✨ 1.5mm - moderate scarring + collagen stimulation
On the face, we do not go deeper than 1.5mm with SkinPen.
And honestly? ➡️ Microneedling is one of the most slept-on treatments out there.
It can be used to target a wide range of concerns, from texture and pores to scarring and fine lines, but it is also a brilliant maintenance treatment for supporting collagen production, brightening the skin and improving overall skin quality over time.
We can also combine microneedling with carefully selected topical treatments, including exosomes and other skin-boosting products, to take advantage of the temporary microchannels created during treatment and enhance delivery into the skin 👏✨
➡️ Think of it as a very personalised treatment rather than a one-depth-fits-all approach.
Across Regents Park Aesthetics, we offer both SkinPen microneedling and RF microneedling, and they remain two of our all-time favourite treatments for improving skin quality.

“Sorry, I can’t talk right now… I’m at the bank...”
(the collagen bank, obv 😌🏦✨)
➡️ Microneedling is one of our favourite ways to invest in your skin for the future.
𝗪𝗵𝘆?
Because those tiny, controlled micro-injuries stimulate the skin’s natural repair response, encouraging the production of collagen and elastin - two of the proteins responsible for keeping skin firm, strong, smooth and resilient 🙏
➡️ And that’s where the idea of “collagen banking” comes in.
Rather than waiting until skin quality has significantly declined, treatments like microneedling can be used proactively to support collagen production and maintain healthier-looking skin over time.
Microneedling can help improve the appearance of:
✨ Fine lines
✨ Enlarged pores
✨ Uneven texture
✨ Acne scarring
✨ General scarring
✨ Dullness
✨ Crepey skin
✨ Loss of firmness
✨ Overall skin quality
And because the treatment is stimulating your own skin rather than simply adding volume, results develop progressively as the skin remodels 🙏
At Regents Park Aesthetics, we offer SkinPen microneedling across all of our branches - a brilliant option for patients looking to refine texture, stimulate collagen and give the skin an overall refresh.
𝗪𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗮 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽 𝗳𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿? ⚡️
We also offer RF microneedling, which combines traditional microneedling with controlled radiofrequency energy delivered beneath the skin.
➡️ Think: microneedling + heat at depth = an extra stimulus for collagen remodelling and skin tightening.

How to make your treatment results last longer 👇✨
In-clinic treatments can do so much for your skin - but what you do afterwards matters just as much 🙏👩🏼⚕️⬇️
Here are Nurse Kay’s 3 tops to help you get the best from your in-clinic treatment:
1️⃣ 𝗙𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲
We give aftercare advice for a reason. It helps protect your skin, reduce irritation and support the best possible healing response after treatment.
2️⃣ 𝗪𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗦𝗣𝗙 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗱𝗮𝘆
Especially after treatments such as IPL, CO2 laser and microneedling, where the skin may be more sensitive and vulnerable to UV exposure. Sunscreen helps protect your skin and preserve your results.
3️⃣ 𝗞𝗲𝗲𝗽 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲 - 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲
You don’t need a 12-step routine. A good cleanser, daily SPF and the right active ingredients for your skin - such as vitamin C, retinol, tretinoin or gentle exfoliation - can make a huge difference over time.

Don’t sleep on this one 👀
The treatment that Nurse Kay recommends most 𝒎𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 surprise you… ⬇️
She also dubs it ‘the most underrated treatment’ out there, because it can do so much for the skin 👀
Her answer? ➡️ Microneedling 🔥
Microneedling works by creating tiny controlled micro-channels in the skin, helping to stimulate the skin’s natural repair process and support collagen production over time.
It can be a brilliant option for improving the appearance of:
✨ Skin texture
✨ Fine lines
✨ Acne scarring
✨ Pigmentation
✨ Uneven tone
✨ Overall skin quality
And the best part? It can be beautifully tailored 🙏
We can combine microneedling with treatments such as dermaplaning, to remove peach fuzz and dead skin from the surface, helping the skin feel smoother and look instantly fresher.
We can also add exosomes to supercharge the treatment and support skin recovery, radiance and regeneration 🧬
Think of it as a skin reset - but with long-term benefits 🙏.
Subtle, natural, collagen-supporting and 𝒔𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒐𝒖𝒔𝒍𝒚
underrated 👏👏👏

Skinpen Microneedling Questions
What happens during the microneedling procedure?
Prior to your treatment with Collagen P.I.N™ microneedling, one of our medical practitioners will apply a topical numbing cream to the skin.
A sterile needle-tip containing tiny microneedles is attached to the Collagen P.I.N.™. We will then apply a thin layer of growth factor serum to your skin and select the appropriate treatment depth based on your unique needs. Next, in a single motion, the Collagen P.I.N™ will be gently glided across the skin until the entire treatment area has been covered. This results in thousands of microscopic channels throughout the entire treatment area which will allow the growth factor serum to penetrate deep into the skin and give amazing results.
Skin will look slightly pink to moderately red after treatment but this should settle within a few hours.
How many microneedling treatments will I need?
Typically a series of 3-6 Collagen P.I.N.™ Microneedling treatments is recommended, depending upon the area of correction or concern. Our highly experienced team will ultimately determine a treatment schedule based on your individual goals and desires. Treatments are usually spaced in 4 week intervals.
